Referral program terms

These terms govern the Level Up referral program (“give a month, get a month”), operated by Playful Digits SRL. A paying family shares a personal link; the friend who uses it gets a longer free trial; the family who shared it gets a free month once the friend’s first payment goes through. The rest of this page is the detail.

1. Who this is between

This agreement is between you, the holder of a Level Up family account who shares a referral link (the “Sharer”), and Playful Digits SRL, CUI 50092060, of Bogdan Voda 14, Bucharest 010936, Romania (“Level Up”, “we”, “us”). It sits alongside our Terms of Use, which continue to apply to both the Sharer and the family they invite.

A family who signs up through a referral link (the “Friend”) is an ordinary Level Up customer on the ordinary terms. Nothing here changes their price, their trial rules beyond its length, or their rights.

2. Who may share a link

A referral link is available to the holder of an active, paid Level Up subscription who has made at least one payment. Families still in their free trial, families whose subscription has lapsed, and co-parent seats on someone else’s account do not have one. Each family has one link, generated for you inside the app; you cannot choose the code.

The link is yours to send to people you know: a message, an email, a post in a group you belong to. Section 8 says what it may not be used for.

3. How a link is attributed

When a Friend follows your link, their browser remembers your code for 30 days. The only thing that has to happen inside that window is that they create a Level Up account.

After that there is no further deadline. The Friend may take the assessment, start a free trial, or first pay months later, and the referral is still yours. The window governs sign-up, not payment.

If a Friend follows a different family’s referral link after yours, the more recent one is credited. Section 4 explains who counts as a Friend in the first place.

4. What the friend gets

A family who signs up through your link gets a 30-day free trial instead of the standard 7 days. Everything else about the trial is the same as for any other new family: a card is collected at signup, nothing is charged during the trial, the first charge amount and date are shown before any payment details are entered, and the trial converts to a paid subscription at the end unless it is canceled first. Canceling at any point in the trial means no charge at all.

To count as a referral, the Friend must be a new household: one that has never held a Level Up account before. A family who already has an account, or who is a co-parent on yours, cannot be referred, and your link gives them nothing extra.

5. What the sharer gets

When a Friend’s first payment succeeds, we add a credit to your account equal to one child’s month at the monthly rate: $49, whatever the number of children on your plan and however often you pay. Families on our original pricing receive their own one-child monthly rate.

The credit is applied automatically to your next invoice. For a family with one child on the monthly plan that invoice comes to $0 and the following invoice is charged as normal; with more children the credit comes off the total; on a 6-month or yearly plan the credit waits on your account and comes off your next renewal, or off an earlier invoice if you add a child before then. Your billing date does not move.

Nothing is earned when a Friend signs up, starts a trial, or finishes the assessment. The only event that earns a month is their first real payment. If a Friend cancels during their trial, no month is earned.

6. How credits work

  • Credits have no cash value. They cannot be paid out, transferred to another account, or exchanged for anything other than a reduction of your own Level Up subscription invoices. They are never refunded: an invoice a credit paid for was $0, so there is nothing to refund on it.
  • Cap. You can earn at most 12 free months in any rolling twelve-month period. Friends who sign up after you reach the cap still get their 30-day trial; no further month is credited to you.
  • One referral per family. A household is referred once, ever. Closing an account and opening a new one does not make a family new again.
  • Closing your account. Credits live on your Level Up billing account. If you delete your account, unused credits are lost with it.
  • Canceling. If you cancel, any unused credit stays on your billing account and is applied if you subscribe again. Your link is hidden while you are not an active subscriber and no new referrals attach to it during that time.

7. Refunds and the guarantee

Our 30-day money-back guarantee on the first charge is unchanged for everyone. Even after your first charge, you get a 30-day money-back guarantee if it’s not a fit, and so does the Friend. It refunds the cash you paid; it does not refund a credit.

If a Friend asks for a refund of their first payment, we do not currently take back the month you earned from it. If more than one Friend you referred asks for a refund, we may pause your link while we look at what is going on, and we may end this practice with the notice described in section 10.

8. What is not allowed

  • Referring yourself, your own household, a co-parent on your account, or any account you control, including through a second email address or a second card.
  • Posting your link to coupon, deal, cashback, or referral-swap sites.
  • Paying to promote your link: paid search, paid social, or any advertisement. A referral link is for people you know, not for an audience you buy.
  • Unsolicited bulk messages, automated posting, or any promotion that breaks the rules of the platform you are posting on.
  • Describing Level Up in ways that are not true, or implying that you speak for us. Partners who promote Level Up commercially have their own program and their own terms.

9. Review, withholding, and ending the program

Before a month is credited we check that a referral meets these terms. A referral that looks like it might not (for example, the Friend’s card is the same as yours) is held for a human to look at, and is credited or declined once we have. We may withhold or decline any credit obtained in breach of section 8, and we may pause or close the link of a Sharer who breaches it.

A month that has already been applied to one of your invoices is not taken back. We may pause or end the referral program at any time; if we do, months already credited to your account stay yours.

10. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms, including the length of the Friend’s trial, the size of the credit, and the cap. If a change reduces what a Sharer earns, we give at least 30 days’ notice by email first, and a Friend who signed up before the change earns you the month on the terms that applied when they signed up.
